What are the requirements to become a lawyer in Texas?

i know you have to have a bachelors degree, but if i get a computer engineer bachelors degree in devry would that be possible?

i know you have to go to law school after your bachlors degree. whats the best bachelors degree to get?

Unless you're already a lawyer in another state, you must first graduate from an ABA-accredited law school. After that, you will have to apply to apply for admission to the state bar, then take and pass both the state bar exam and the Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam. (Most people study for the bar exam for at least a couple of months after graduation.)

The state bar will also investigate your character and moral fitness using your application as a starting point (looking at things like any criminal record, evidence of moral problems like lying on the application, or evidence of things that would prevent someone from practicing law competently, like substance abuse problems).

Once you've passed all other requirements, you pay your fees, enroll in the state bar, and get sworn in as a lawyer. It sounds like a long, hard process, and it is!

There are a lot of different bachelor's degrees that could prepare you well for law school so the best subject for you would be something that you're passionate about that requires solid academic work. But you should go to a good school, work hard, get the best grades you can, and make sure to focus on classes that help you improve your writing and analytical thinking. DeVry is a good school in many ways, but it's known more for preparing people for work than for its academics. If there's a law school you have in mind, you could call their admissions department and ask their opinion about DeVry, and whether anyone who attended DeVry has ever been admitted there. Law school admissions, even at lower-ranked law schools, are very competitive.

move to polk county and marry into the family. Last I heard, they run the police, the judges and the county.you can be appointed something maybe even a post as a lawyer.

You must pass the LSAT and graduate from law school and pass the bar exam.
There are some law schools that might accept your degree.
If not try out of state law schools.

To practice law in Texas, you need to have graduated from an accredited law school and have passed the Texas bar exam.
