If Your SIN card number in Canada expires , Will You continue to get paid by Your current employer?

If Your sin number expires and You wont get the new card (with the same number) until 2 months . Will You still keep receiving the deposits from the employer in the bank ?

yes you will

I've never heard of a Canadian SIN number expiring, even though I was born in Canada a half-century ago, and have lived and worked in Canada most of that time (including time with the federal civil service.)

I'm trying to imagine a situation in which a SIN card number expires, but can't think of one. As I understand things, the number is a unique one which is permanently assigned to one person.

I do know that it is possible to replace a lost SIN card. Not having a card doesn't mean you don't have a number: you have the number even though you don't have the plastic. Even though every other transaction seems to ask for a SIN number, I've never been asked to show the plastic. And the paycheck deposits continue.

Incidentally, you may refuse to give your SIN number under most circumstances. Taxation (and, thus paycheck information) is not one of those.
