What can stop someone from buying a handgun in FL, aside from a Felony or Misd. related to domestic violence?

I recently purchased a handgun and was not approved for some reason. From the form I filled out, I met all the criteria necessary, and I was not approved, and I dont understand why. I am appealing and hopefully that will clear it up.

Could be a case of mistaken identity, or a mental background, too many DUIs signaling a alcoholic problem, wanted somewhere, probation, criminal convictions.

It's hard to say. Is there possibly something in your background check that might have resulted in it being turned down? Have you taken any gun safety classes? Taking one of those will look good on your appeal.

Good point Arthur. A lot of times credit reports can be screwed up by people using your identity or who have a SSN that's a digit off of yours.

Is there anyway you can request to look at the information that was found on you? It might not be your information they are looking at.
