Allah Says: if the Arrogates See the Right Path They Do not Adopt it and Vice Versa

Many people do not know Allah. This series (1-69) is an attempt to help them to know their Creator.

Verses 7:145-146 of the Noble Quran talk about: 1) Allah shall turn away believing in His revelations those who behave arrogantly, 2) Allah says: if the arrogates see the right path they do not adopt it and vice versa, 3) Allah wrote for Moses the Law upon the tablets, 4) Allah said to Moses: Take the Torah seriously, 5) What were the Tablets of Torah made from and how many they were? 6) Could Moses lift and carry the Torah of the Quran or the Torah of the Bible? And 7) Allah showed Moses the dwelling places of  Pharaoh in the Afterlife

Allah said: O Moses! I have preferred thee above mankind, above the Children of Israel by My messages and by My speaking unto thee. So hold that which I have given thee, act upon that which I have given you, and be among the thankful that I chose to speak to you from among all people.

The meaning of verse 7:145

And Allah inscribed for Moses in the Tablets, that is, the Tablets of the Torah about all things, one needs in religion, as an admonition and a detailing, an explanation, of all things.

In other words, And Allah wrote for Moses, upon the tablets, the lesson, the prohibition to be drawn from all things and the explanation of all things of the lawful and the unlawful, commands and prohibitions.  Then Allah said to Moses:

1) Take it then firmly, seriously and earnestly, and enjoin your people to adhere to the fairest precepts in it i.e. command your people (saying): Take the better act and 2) I shall show you the abode of the wicked, evil-livers, the transgressors of Pharaoh and his followers, which is hell; the Eternal Fire.

This indicates that Allah showed Moses the dwelling places of  Pharaoh and his followers in the Eternal Fire. These dwelling places are their forever!

Furthermore, It is said that these Tablets were made from the Lote-tree of Paradise, or of chrysolite or emerald, and they were either seven or ten. This seems reasonable because Moses would be able to carry them. 

N.B. the Torah today would not be written on 7 or 10 tablets of chrysolite or emerald; one needs some 700-1000 tablets to write it on. These tablets need a big truck to carry them!  A world champion of the weight lifting could not carry them!

This is the difference between the Torah mentioned in the Quran and the Torah found in the Bible!

The meaning of verse 7:146

Then Allah said:

I shall turn away from My signs, the proofs of My power, in the way of creations and otherwise, those who behave arrogantly in the earth without right, by humiliating them so that they do not magnify themselves;

and if they see every sign do not believe in it,

and if they see the way, the path, of rectitude, the guidance that has come from Allah, do not adopt it as a way, to follow,

and if they see the way of error, misguidance, adopt it as a way.

That, turning of them away, is because they have denied Our signs and were heedless of them.

A similar statement has been made above.

In other words, Allah said:

I shall turn away believing in My revelations those who magnify themselves wrongfully without any right

it is also said that this means: I will show you, O Muhammad, the abode of evil-doers

it is also said that it refers to who see each token and do not believe, and if they see the way of righteousness the way of Islam and goodness they do not choose it for their way; they would not consider it a way,

and if they see the way of error, the way of disbelief and idolatry they choose it for their way.

Why Allah turns them away? Because they deny His revelations, His Scripture and His Messengers and they are used to disregard them, disbelieving in them.

QARIB: we inscribed for him upon the tablets all kinds of exhortation and clear explanations of all things. so take it forcefully, and order your nation to take what is best of it. i shall show you the home of the wicked.

SHAKIR: and we ordained for him in the tablets admonition of every kind and clear explanation of all things; so take hold of them with firmness and enjoin your people to take hold of what is best thereof; i will show you the abode of the transgressors

PICKTHAL: and we wrote for him, upon the tablets, the lesson to be drawn from all things and the explanation of all things, then (bade him): hold it fast; and command thy people (saying): take the better (course made clear) therein. i shall show thee the abode of evil-livers.

YUSUFALI: and we ordained laws for him in the tablets in all matters, both commanding and explaining all things, (and said): “take and hold these with firmness, and enjoin thy people to hold fast by the best in the precepts: soon shall i show you the homes of the wicked,- (how they lie desolate).”

Verse 7:146

QARIB: from my signs i will turn away the unrightfully, arrogant in the land, so that even if they witness every sign they would not believe it. if they see the path of righteousness, they shall not take it as a path; but if they see the path of error, they shall take it for their path because they belied our signs and were inattentive towards them.

SHAKIR: i will turn away from my communications those who are unjustly proud in the earth; and if they see every sign they will not believe in it; and if they see the way of rectitude they do not take it for a way, and if they see the way of error. they take it for a way; this is because they rejected our communications and were heedless of them

PICKTHAL: i shall turn away from my revelations those who magnify themselves wrongfully in the earth, and if they see each token believe it not, and if they see the way of righteousness choose it nor for (their) way, and if they see the way of error choose if for (their) way. that is because they deny our revelations and are used to disregard them.

YUSUFALI: those who behave arrogantly on the earth in defiance of right – them will i turn away from my signs: even if they see all the signs, they will not believe in them; and if they see the way of right conduct, they will not adopt it as the way; but if they see the way of error, that is the way they will adopt. for they have rejected our signs, and failed to take warning from them.

The Ultimate Treasure For Christians

The argument on whether the Bible bears witness to its divine inspirer will appeal only to those who are intimately acquainted with the Bible, and the more familiar the reader is with the Sacred Canon the more heartily will he endorse the following statements. Just as a knowledge of Latin is necessary in order to understand the technique of a treatise on pathology or physiology, or just as a certain amount of culture and academic learning is an indispensable adjunct to intelligently follow the arguments and apprehend the illustrations in a dissertation on philosophy or psychology, so a first-hand acquaintance with the Bible is necessary to appreciate the fact that its contents never become commonplace.

One of the first facts which arrests the attention of the student of God’s Word is that, like the widow’s oil and meal which nourished Elijah, the contents of the Bible are never exhausted. Unlike all other books, the Bible never acquires a sameness, and never diminishes in its power of response to the needy soul which comes to it. Just as a fresh supply of manna was given each day to the Israelites in the wilderness, so the Spirit of God ever breaks anew the Bread of Life to them who hunger after righteousness; or, just as the loaves and fishes in the hands of our Lord were more than enough to feed the famished multitude-a surplus still remaining-so the honey and milk of the Word are more than sufficient to satisfy the hunger of every human soul-the supply still remaining undiminished for new generations.

Although one may know, word for word, the entire contents of some chapter of Scripture, and although he may have taken the time to ponder thoughtfully every sentence therein, yet, on every subsequent occasion, provided one comes to it again in the spirit of humble inquiry, each fresh reading will reveal new gems never seen there before and new delights will be experienced never met with previously. The most familiar passages will yield as much refreshment at the thousandth perusal as they did at the first. The Bible has been likened to a fountain of living water: the fountain is ever the same, but the water is always fresh.

Herein the Bible differs from all other books, sacred or secular. What man has to say can be gathered from his writings at the first reading: failure to do so indicates that the writer has not succeeded in expressing himself clearly, or else the reader has failed to apprehend his meaning. Man is only able to deal with surface things, hence he cares only about surface appearances; consequently, whatever man has to say lies upon the surface of his writings, and the capable reader can exhaust them by a single perusal. Not so with the Bible. Although the Bible has been studied more microscopically than any other book (even its very letters have been counted and registered) by many of the keenest intellects for the past two thousand years, although whole libraries of works have been written as commentaries upon its teachings, and although literally millions of sermons have been preached and printed in the attempt to expound every part of Holy Writ, yet its contents have not been exhausted, and in this twentieth century new discoveries are being made in it every day!

The Bible is an inexhaustible mine of wealth: it is the El Dorado of heavenly treasure. It has veins of ore which never ‘give out’ and pockets of gold which no pick can empty; yet, like earthly treasures, the gems of God must be diligently sought if they are to be found. Potatoes lie near the surface of the ground, but diamonds require much laborious digging, so also the precious things of the Word are only revealed to the prayerful, patient and diligent student.

The Bible is like a spring of water which never runs dry. No matter how many may drink from its life-giving stream, and no matter how often they may quench their thirst at its refreshing waters, its flow continues and never fails to satisfy the needs of all who come and take of its perennial springs. The Bible has a whole continent of Truth yet to be explored. A learned scholar who died during the present year of grace had read through the Bible no fewer than five hundred times! What other book, ancient or modern, Oriental or Occidental, would repay even a fiftieth reading?

How can we account for this marvelous characteristic of the Bible? What explanation can we offer for this startling phenomenon? It is only stating a commonplace axiom when we affirm that what is finite is fathomable. What the mind of man has produced the mind of man can exhaust. If human mortals had written the Bible its contents would have been ‘mastered’ ages ago. In view of the fact that the contents of the Scriptures cannot be exhausted, that they never acquire sameness or staleness to the devout student, and that they always speak with fresh force to the quickened soul that comes to them, is it not apparent that none other than the infinite mind of God could have created such a wonderful Book as the Bible?

In the Quran: What if we are obliged to consume the Forbidden Food?

The Lion is mentioned in the Bible 119 times, 110 times in the Old Testament and nine times in the New Testament.

The Lion is not mentioned in the Noble Quran; however, wild beasts (wild animals) is mentioned once.

In the Bible, Daniel 7:3-4 say that four great beasts came up out of the sea. The first of them was like a lion which had eagle’s wings.  These wings were plucked off and the lion made to stand on two feet like a man; and the mind (heart) of a man was given to that lion.  Nothing like that is found in the Noble Quran.

In the Quran, verse 5:3 says What if we have nothing to eat but the forbidden food to save our life, would Muslims eat it or no?  They have to eat it to save their life.  If they do not eat, it is a big sin.

(you are forbidden) to seek division by the arrows, that is debauchery. those who disbelieve have this day despaired of your religion. do not fear them, but fear me. this day i have perfected your religion for you and completed my favor to you. i have approved Islam to be your religion. (as for) he who does not intend to commit a sin but is constrained by hunger to eat of what is forbidden, then surely Allah is forgiving, merciful.

 

SHAKIR: forbidden to you is that which dies of itself, and blood, and flesh of swine, and that on which any other name than that of Allah has been invoked, and the strangled (animal) and that beaten to death, and that killed by a fall and that killed by being smitten with the horn, and that which wild beasts have eaten, except what you slaughter, and what is sacrificed on stones set up (for idols) and that you divide by the arrows; that is a transgression. this day have those who disbelieve despaired of your religion, so fear them not, and fear me. this day have i perfected for you your religion and completed my favor on you and chosen for you Islam as a religion; but whoever is compelled by hunger, not inclining willfully to sin, then surely Allah is forgiving, merciful.

And what has been hallowed to other than Allah, in that it was sacrificed in the name of something other than Him, and the beast strangled, to death,

And the beast gored, to death by another,

And what beasts of prey have devoured, of such animals except for what you have sacrificed duly, catching it while it still breathes life and then sacrificing it 

And what has been sacrificed in, the name of, idols

And that you apportion, that is, that you demand an oath or a ruling, through the divining of arrows.  There were seven of these [arrows], [marked] with flags, and they were retained by the keeper of the Kaaba. They would use them for arbitrations and when they commanded them they obeyed, and if they prohibited them they would desist; that is wickedness, a rebellion against obedience. And on the Day of ‘Arafat’ in the year of the Farewell Pilgrimage, the following was revealed: Today the disbelievers have despaired of your religion, of you apostatizing from it, having hoped for it [earlier], for now they perceived its strength; therefore do not fear them, but fear Me. Today I have perfected your religion for you, that is, its rulings and obligations

(After this verse, nothing about what is lawful or unlawful was revealed).

And I have completed My favor upon you, by perfecting it [your religion], but it is also said by effecting their safe entry into Mecca; and I have approved, chosen, Islam for you as religion.

But whoever is constrained by emptiness, by hunger, to consume some of what has been forbidden him and consumes it, not inclining purposely to sin, to an act of disobedience; then Allah is Forgiving, to him for what he has consumed, Merciful, to him by permitting it to him, in contrast to the one who [purposely] inclines to sin, that is, the one actively engaged in it, such as a way layer or a criminal, for whom such consumption is forbidden.

What if we have nothing to eat but forbidden food e.g. swine to save our life, would Muslims eat it or no?  They have to eat it to save their life but they have not to eat extra amount; they just eat the amount that would save the life.  Also, it is a big sin if they do not eat and hurt their life!
