Is a last will and testament public knowledge after it's been read? |
I live in Michigan and was just wondering if there's anywhere I can go to find a copy of my husband's grandfather's will. My m-i-l is being awfully secretive... The will is public record after it has gone through probate. Start at the county court house, probate court, in the county where the man lived. The will should be filed in the probate court of the county where the man died. You can see it there or order a copy of it. It becomes a public document after it's been probated or filed with the court. You can get a copy of it if you contact your couty clerk's office and ask them to advise you. |
