Do you believe an adequate debriefing and re-introductory to civilian life is given our veterans.?

Given the number of homeless vetrans on the street are they being treated farely after having served our country at the federal level.

I think our war veterans should be treated like the heros that they are when they return instead of the way they are being treated right now.

It is shown that especially with this war, our soldiers are being put on anti-depressant medication just to try and deal with only being sent home for a week before being deployed again, no medical evaluations, just the medication. And when they finally get to return home for good, they are booted back in civilization and told "thank you", but don't get all the benefits they deserve. Housing, medical care, free medical insurance, mandatory phychiatric evaluations.

A lifetime of being thanked by our country (through benefits not through the words) for putting their lives at risk for us.

My two cents...

Mandatory psychological counseling should be provided to all war veterans (especially shell-shocked ones) up to six solid months after returning home, and then at reduced rate vet's discount after that. There's no human being in existence who fights in a war that isn't somehow psychologically affected by it.

Additionally, military should provide career counseling services post-discharge if they don't already do so. Or strengthen any current programs. Unfortunately I've seen a couple troops come home disillusioned, not knowing what to do next or having the faintest idea where to take their valuable military expertise and make it work in their favor.

yes

92.5% of the homeless men that claim they are VETS are not vets. Just bums looking for beer or drug money.

A returning vet has it easier than a lot of people their age. They have the GI bIll for college or a new home.
