Ok i have a question about this teacher...is it harrassment????

ok well today was a little rough.
i have a friend kaley and today she was in her last period class with mr. hacker, social studies. soeverything was going good until kaley realized she had to pee and it wasn't "im going to go and talk in the bathroom" it was "an omg i can't hold it anymore" so she asks mr. hacker if she can go use the bathroom

well mr. hacker goes off and says that he can't trust her because her parents didn't raise her right.

well that made her mad and she said "im sorry but you are not going to talk about my parents like that"

so mr. hacker flips out and gets in her face and starts screaming in her face. well she starts crying and can't stop because mr. hacker is standing there in her face. well, my other friend, morgan has one of my 7th grade teachers numbers (btw im in 8th grade) and tries to call her to get help because she doesn't know what else to do.

well this teacher didn't think it was important and that it was an accident that morgan was calling so she ignored the call and kept teaching.

so since morgan couldn't get a hold of a teacher she figures that someone needs to get help and she can't get a hold of a teacher so shes gonna try to get out of the class and try to go get help.

well while morgan is getting up, mr. hacker has kaley cornered and shes crying and hes yelling at her in a corner by the door and she can't get away.

well morgan makes a run for the door and mr. hacker sees her, so he JUMPS literally jumps in front of the door to block morgan from leaving the class at all. so since the class cant get help, they are stuck in there to face him so they finally get the bell and are able to get out and kaley is crying and scared out of her skin.

i was wondering if there is anything legal that is possible to be put into action.

i was thinking this might be harrassment but im not to good with the law so serious answers only please...
i would go to the end of the world for my best friends and im not going to let this happen...please help me, her, and all the other kids in this class.

also, he does yell everyday, he cusses in class and says the F word to the students.

he does yell and scream everyday but today more so than ever...

Hell yeah you should report that He has no right to treat your friend or anyone for that matter the way he did I would 1st have her tell her parents about this incident Also you should tell your parents as well Have both of your parents go to the school and talk with the principal If the principal refuses to do anything about the situation Then go to the police and file a complaint Once you do that You will go to court and the judge will decide his fate from that point What most likely will happen is he will get kicked out of the school and will be banned from teaching not only from your school But all schools What he did was harrassment and should be dealt with as soon as possible Now if and when you go to court Be sure you have evidence on what happened So anyone who saw this (the more people who saw it the better) is going to have to go to court and testify They will also have to go before the principal and tell them their version of what happened If no one else saw Then itll be a little bit harder since itll be your word against his And you know most people take the side of the person in authority (Im sorry to say that But its usually the way it works) Hopefully talking with the principal will go well so there will be no need to go to the police I hope everything turns out ok When all this is over Post up what happened Because im sure everyone reading this would want his *** to lose his reputation and deal with the consequences for being a complete a**hole Good luck

She needs to tell her parents about what happened. They can decide what to do from there. They should, in my opinion, file a complaint.

ok that is some serious stuff and you should contact a parent or another adult figure RIGHT NOW that is verbal and physical harassment.

LMAO! OMG THAT IS SCARY BUT YOU KNOW WHAT before your going to report anything get evidence use your phones voice memo and recording him yelling or saying the F word you need to catch him doing that somehow!

all u can do is go to the top, talk to the school bouard officials, they should take care of it,talk to your parents first and they will help u connect

well in my school, the students have a right to feel safe so if she or anyone else did not feel safe go to the principle or someone in charge.

back when I was your age, If we couldn't go we held it and kept our mouths shut....now we are contemplating law suits and calling teachers with our cell phones. wow. times have surely changed.

well i know that if you tell the principle about what he said he could get fired, something like this happened with my gym teacher when i was in elementary school

maybe istead of playing around in between classes your firend shoudl have used the restroom.

I don't know about law but that sounds really bad. A teacher can't keep someone in the class physically.

Let your parents read your question, they will know what to do.

I go to the same school as future mrs.joejonas and i just wanted to let u know that you need to not say that she should have gone between the bell because that isn't allowed at our school. you can only go before school, during 2nd period with your class, during 6th with your class and after school. i just wanted to let you know, and thanks soooooo much for all the great advice. we are using it to set it right...

Tell the principal right away! This could be the start, then he might do something else, or start you know abuse or something. Also ask a counselor maybe. But has he ever done this sort of thing before to anyone? has he been nice with your friend before?

um well if you talk to your parents, her parents or the school. it depends how your parents are mine are teahcers themselves so they dont care but if yours arent tell them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the school will probably deny but you need to press and like try to hint that some legal action will be made. that is not okay and kind of scary i think he is mentally ill

His blocking the door could be false imprisonment, but schools receive a lot of deference in disciplinary matters. So the correct answer is...that it depends on the totality of the circumstances.

I don't think this is what would be considered harassment, nor does it seem to be a crime, but it certainly is not admirable behavior. It is hard to tell what specifically happened as the details are a bit sketchy. Nonetheless, a teacher yelling at a student to the point of making them cry and to embarrass them in front of a class like this would be reason enough for her parents to contact the principal and/or a school board member about the issues. This behavior is not ok in a classroom and needs to be addressed.

It sounds a little odd that your teacher just flipped out for no reason & went bizerk just because she wanted to use the restroom...so I have a feeling you're leaving SOMETHING out.....

But it is possible that he's just a loony toon... so if that's the case... then YES it absolutely was out of line for him to corner your friend like that & jump infront of the door. Go tell your parents what happened, exactly like you did here... and if he really is a nut case like that, make sure you tell them your not overreacting & to have them do something with the school staff because your friends don't feel comfortable with their teacher.

First of all, it sounds to me like your teacher took it a little out of hand and lost his temper. If he can't control his temper he shouldn't be teaching.

Second, I would wonder if your friend had given him a reason to be so angry with her. Did she jump up and interrupt the class while he was teaching to ask to go to the bathroom? Did she blurt it out? If she had raised her hand, waited to be called on, then asked politely, there should be no reason why he lost his temper. If this is so, he is in the wrong.

But if she didn't ask appropriately I'd understand, in small part, his anger.

In any case, him jumping in front of the door seems a little outrageous. If you feel and anyone else in your class feels uncomfortable with the way he speaks while teaching, you should go to the office and talk with a guidance counselor, or any other administrator who could possibly help you. Also, your friend should try to learn to go to the bathroom between classes. Most high school teachers don't play that mess :P

thats simlar to what happend to me but my teacher didnt try cornerin me. but when i reported it i got in trouble for arguing back cause the school is rubbish. but still this is more serious i would report it.

Did anyone have the presence of mind to film this episode?

The first thing to do is meet with your counselor and unemotionally describe the incident. The students most personally involved will need to make an incident report. Formally, ask them to investigate. The School District should interview all students in the class independently of one another.

Keep the situation quiet. Do not try to make this a public lynching, it will backfire and you will not get any resolution.

Let the authorities in the school an community take care of the situation. If you make a false report or a report that contains libelous or slanderous language you could be held legally responsible.

ur teacher's an a**wipe, and he has no business telling ur friend that she wasn't raised right. i had a teacher that would yell at students, so multiple people went to the guidance counselor, or they had they're parents write a note to bring to the counselor. when the principal got word of this, she was forced to change her ways,and have another teacher watch her lessons and she almost lost her job. sadly, there really isn't any legal action to take unless it was sexual or physical abuse. tell ur friend 2 tell her parents, and have them talk to the counselor and the principal. he could get fired for this, so take immediate action. good luck!
