Traffic convictions? |
My friend is 19 and he got 2 traffic convictions. One got cleared off his record but the other remains. Him and his sister share the same car so if she ever got pulled over and got another conviction would he lose his license for having one conviction already? The traffic convictions are not linked to the car that is being driven--they go with the driver. So, if his sister gets a moving violation, it will go on her driving record, and it won't affect your friend. The traffic violations are given to the driver of the car, not the car itself. Your friend would not be held responsible for the violations of his sister. I cant answer that without knowing the state, how many points he has, etc. Generally it takes more then two convictions to get your license suspended. It also depends on how close together the violations are. The DMV website for your state will have to allowable points. You friend can also find out how may points he has, and how many more it would take to suspend the license. probably not, they may send him to a class like defensive driving. Also it depends on the conviction, judge, officer, defense attorney, and the biggest your state. I live in VA and on my 2nd offense had to take a class. I'm pretty sure he will be fine. But why risk it, just go the speed limit and watch what he is doing that way there's no worries at all! I just saw what you really asked but NO she is the driver SHE gets the offense! |
