Possible to request traffic school after the verdict?

In CALIFORNIA, specifically San Diego County,
Is it possible to request traffic school after being found guilty?

I was found guilty on tuesday after pleading non-guilty to a speeding ticket. I was able to make my argument, but unfortunately lost(officer's word against mine). The verdict was read so quickly I didn't get a chance to ask the Commissioner to allow me to take traffic school. At the same time, he didn't deny it. It just wasn't mentioned at all.

Ive called the court three times asking if I could still go in and request it.

The first clerk said no. The second was telling me I could come in and ask but was checking my case when the phone died. The third said I could come in and ask the judge.

So what is it? Is it possible,at the judges discretion, to be allowed traffic school if I havent yet paid and the verdict has already been read?
I am eligible for traffic school.

And yes, I know traffic school is a privilege and not a right.

Why not call a few traffic schools and get their opinions and advice?
