Serious answers only please, about a traffic violation.?

Is it illegal to park off to the side of the road with the car facing against the flow of traffic? The car is not blocking traffic and the car is parked. Does it really matter what direction the car is facing?

legally speaking... yes... it's a violation (perhaps because when you merge back on the road you are crossing over oncoming traffic head on?) however I myself did it the other day thinking if i'm careful surely there can be no harm..... seems kind of an extreme rule doesn't it?

If it was a residential street you are supposed to park with the flow of traffc... On regular roads you are not supposed to park on the shoulder at all only in a emergency!!

Depending on the vehicular law of the state your in, it could be. But use your common sense, it could cause an accident when you pull off if your parked against the flow of traffic.

I don't know why it matters, but it is against the law in California, maybe in West Virginia you can park like that.

It does in most towns; mostly due to the danger of accident while leaving the space. See tickets on windshields every day for that locally

It is illegal... and here's why.

In order to get there... you would have to operate your vehicle in a manner where you were driving the wrong way in a lane.

Basically - you're leaving evidence that you did.

It's kinda like leaving your girlfriends panties in your wife's bed.

Ya know?

Yes that is illegal as you would have to cross over in front of the oncoming traffic very dangerous

Yes, Usually they will site you because your right tire is more than xx inches from the curb.

yes it can be, dependent on the ordinances of the area where you did it. so if the town, county, state, whatever has the law, then yeah, it's illegal.

Yes, it does matter. If you're parking your car, it needs to be facing with the flow of traffic (ie: on the right side). How do I know?...*laughs* because I've gotten ticketed before for doing just this...parking against the flow of traffic.
