If i stabbed and killed someone in my own defence, would i go to jail.?

So today this guy was pissing me off. Im 15 and we were in food tech class. He was pushing me around, punching me, wipping me in my eyes with his tie(he always does this kinda stuff). There was a knife on my working bench and i was this close to stabbing him with it. Lets say i did stab him and kill him, would i still go to jail even though it was in my own defence?

You are allowed to use reasonable force to defend yourself. If you were under immediate threat of death, killing someone might be OK (with the emphasis on "might") if there was no other option.

Self defense is a sticky one.

Unless your life was in imminent danger, you do not have the right to kill someone. If he came at you with a knife and you grabbed one too, had a knife fight and he lost-- that might get you off on self defense.

Otherwise, if he's pushing and punching you-- you have every right to push and punch back (although expect to be suspended from school if you do. He should be suspended too, though!) If you stab him in this situation, you would certainly be expelled and definitely face criminal charges.

I know it really sucks-- we've all been in your shoes. It sucks to be bullied, and even worse when it becomes physical. It's so easy to feel angry and helpless and want to stoop to their level. As awful as it feels right now, it does eventually go away. Your classmates will start to grow up and mature a little, eventually. Even if this happens slowly, at least you're out of school in a couple years. Don't mess up your future by letting those people get to you. Be the bigger man, it will get you so much further in life.

And don't forget, we've all been through it, and so many others are going through it with you.

Sad thing is you probobly would, when he full out deserved a good shanking.

Thats the problem now days, kids can't defend themselves from bullies; which screws them over when the are told to rely on teachers/police/other figures of autorities to help them out. And of course, they always turn out to be completely useless.

probably if you killed him. if you just hurt him you would both probably get expelled.

u would do some time, seeing how a school has teachers, just read the papers how kids your age are going away for a long time.
