Is it leagal for a tire tech in wi to be exemt from getting paid overtime?something to do with inerstate comm

never heard of it but its happening to my husband, something to do with inerstate commrence? his boss claims he has it and does not have to pay employees overtime or time in a half

Sounds kinda fishy to me.

You or your husband should check with your state labor board to be sure.

Wisconsin rules for overtime, I did not find a statute for interstate commerce. There are specific rules for ovetime exemptions listed there, maybe he is under one of them.

It's BS. Unless he's an 'overtime exempt' employee - which means bona-fide management employee or some types of skilled professionals - then he's entitled to overtime pay.

Richard

If he's considered a mechanic working on "flat time" he gets no overtime. When my brother was a mechanic he'd be at work 45 hours a week and sometimes only earn 25 hours pay.

Hmm sounds like BS to me. He should be entitle to overtime pay unless he's a salaried employee.
