Why is my boss so unfair?

i work at a drugstore. but i am working as a service clerk right now... i had been going to school as a pharmacy tech, and i am about to get my diploma and board exam this month. Anyway, i asked my boss if he can put me in the pharmacy if i do pass my board exam and he said he won't put me there even if i do pass my exam. his only reason was i am just a quite person. and he doesn't think i can do the job. When he hired me he said that there was no opening in the pharmacy so i was hired as a service clerk then 3 days later he hired a white woman to work as a pharmacy tech. I am Asian.. I feel like i am being discriminated. i cannot afford to loose my job right now because i haven't taken my board exam yet .. can someone give me some advice please?

well he is THE STORE manager, every employee has to go through them...including the pharmacy..

do your best , pass the test and get a job at a real pharmacy! don't bother with a law suit. you don't want people thinking you are sue happy! hard work does pay off just give it time!!

since when does the store manager hire for the pharmacy?

Go talk to the pharmacy manager.

Discrimination, based on race, is illegal.

Pass your exam. Then, since you don't like it there, look for another job.

He sounds like a jerk and a half... however,
if you have proven yourself as a good employee (that is, if he is not TOTALLY racist) than if there is the slightest need for help in the pharmacy, I don't see why he wouldn't hire you.
I would honestly look elsewhere though. There are plenty of good pharmacy' s that would be willing to hire you!
Good luck!

By the time you get that diploma, you should look somewhere else for employment. It is possible that he doesn't pay enough anyways. And besides he sounds like a "Bully" and maybe in the Pharmacy he has a best friend in there that is a screw up. Don't stress, this too shall pass.
