She hit my son!?

a Lab Tech smacked the **** out of my son yesterday, what do I do? What steps do I take?
I don't want her to get away with this, This town where I am is still a REDNECK TOWN!~ No one acted like they cared!

I'm sorry!! My son is only 3 years old, 30 pounds, and no front teeth!
the woman said she thought he was going to bite her, but I was holding his head, arms and legs!!

You should voice your concern about this to the Lab Tech's supervisor. If you do not get the satisfaction you want, then contact your local law-enforcement agency.

define smacked plz. Anyone who has taken their child in for blood work knows that usually it involves 2-3 people in the case of young children with 1 or 2 holding the child down. They even ask parents to help. And that can seem brutal. It can even leave marks. They also have to prep the area and if the child is resisting it can leave marks or take longer. Now if she smacked him upside the head I would agree she did wrong. But if you have ever dealt with a struggling, screaming, biting and kicking child and tried to give a shot or draw blood (both of which are dangerous in the best of circumstances) that was restrained for a medical procedure I would chalk it up to a necissary bad experience and leave it alone.

I gotta ask -
how old is your son?
and what did the litttle sweetie do to get smacked?
if no one cared it's probably because he earned it -
Report it to her supervisor- that's about all you can do

Was that "lab tech" smacking a site to stick a needle for bloodwork?? If so, some vessels are harder to get to than others. If so, she is just doing her job. I can't think of any other scene where a "lab tech" would be involved with a youngster.

Have you contacted the police? Take pics of the injuries and document everything, then contact a lawyer. The police should act on this assault, if not, get a lawyer.

Break open her secret experiment, you know the one, then give it a carror and train it, then make him kill the lab tech.

Have you ever thought that your son may be the cause. Disruptive behavior needs to be controlled and this is the way. You want to coddle him when he did wrong? Where are your long term ideals for a better society? The saying it takes an entire village to raise children is just what happened. Your son acted up and was disciplined If you intervene he will always act up if you smack him for action up as well he will never act up again The choice is yours. Prisons are full of people who's parents had good intentions but lacked discipline

A lab tech? was this in a hospital or school??? SUE, SUE, Sue... don't let her get away with it, please..

In that case then, get yourself a aluminum baseball bat and wait for this Lab Tech outside in the parking lot,and show him what paybacks means.

People just do not smack people for the heck of it even in red neck ville. Make sure your son did not provoke the smack and do not defend him if he was in the wrong. That just shows he can cry wolf. If it was unprovoked then talk to supervisor.

Well, did the smack rock his world or was it just to let him know biting wouldn't be tolerated. Just because he doesn't have front teeth and is only 30 lbs., doesn't mean he couldn't do some damage if he tried to bite. Yes, it is upsetting to see someone else strike your child, but after having time to cool down from a decidely tense situation, can you see the reasoning behind what was done. If you think it was to the extreme, then file a complaint with that office and a report with your local authorities.

The best teacher smacked the crap out of me in the 7th grade. It got me back on track. I am 65, so I don't think it hurt me. In those days one didn't come home and tell about it either. Maybe if it happened more the children would be a little more humble. I know it can go to far, but the teacher always my permission to spank as needed , with my children.

If no one cares the smack the **** out of her.

It's funny to see the people who say "hitting is wrong" suggest hitting as a way to deal with this.

Without more detail as to what exactly happened the most logical assumption is that the child was "smacked" to raise a blood vessel to the surface of the skin. If so then no crime was committed. Further, if this is the case that smack caused far less trauma than digging a needle around below the skin to find a blood vessel that hasn't popped up. Trust me, that hurts far worse.
