Unethical telecom practices?

I have had problems with 3 different phone companies in the last year. One authorized dealer lied about how their plan worked, and caused my daughter to run up a huge bill. We called, sent letters, talked to the dealer, contacted CEOs to no avail. They placed the charges on my husbands credit report and I sent a retort to accompany the bad rating. The next company is doing much the same thing to our company phones. They interrupted service then tried to have us pay their technician $100/hr to come out and fix it. We brought in our own tech who determined no signal was coming to the box. They started charging for long distance which was supposed to be part of the plan. I transferred another carrier and they continued to charge us even after I sent in cacellation notices. They have yet to remove the charge. I even contacted the MD Public Service Comission who tried to pass this to the FCC. Is this only going on in MD or in other states too?

The 3rd company finally fixed their billing problem after several phone calls. Lucky for them because I had a preponderance of evidence that would have took them out in a civil suit.

Be sure you leave a report with the BBB.
Contact your state attorney general and let them know. Also, ask the district attorney if he can help. Keep records of your rejections and explanations to the companies. Be sure to state explicitly what you believe you do ( and do not) owe and why, you may need these later if it goes to court. The credit card company should be on YOUR side in a claim dispute, ask for supervisors, then if they don't listen, cut up the card and send it to them with an explanation. You have to fight them, but keep records of all correspondence. This means you need to handle a lot of this by mail or fax so you have records. Don't let them push you around. These crooks are all over the place.
