But I think your decision to stop paying taxes doesn't matter here...they麓ll rob you anyway, they have police, army and courts, and you麓re basically powerless against them...
You can eventually join some movement or group which advocates tax-resistance or counter-economics (http://agorism.info/docs/Counter-Economi... http://www.alternet.org/story/15593/?pag...

Find a job where you work under the table or move out of the U. S. You are stuck paying taxes till you die. There is no way out unless you can come up with a lot of deductions or losses. Even if you stop paying every week, you will still owe at the end of the year, so what is better, a little every week or trying to come up with a large sum to pay every April. You can also try not paying that but if you do, expect to have liens attached to everything you have, your bank account frozen and your wages garnished when they catch up with you. There are 2 things you don't mess with in life, one is God, and the other is the IRS.

There is no legal way to avoid paying federal taxes. Claiming 6 dependents may result in no income tax being withdrawn from your paycheck, but you are still obligated to file a tax return. If you do not have 6 dependents, then you will end up owing a lot in tax and if you fraudulently add 6 dependents to your tax return, you will have committed a crime.

On a legal note, the 16th Amendment to the United States Constitution permits the government to levy income taxes. Since it is part of the Constitution, it is essentially legal. Tax protester groups that advocate not paying taxes, may have legitimate arguments, but none of their arguments have stood up to challenge in Court. So, if you intend to stop paying income taxes, be prepared for the consequences.

You cannot even leave the country to avoid paying US income taxes. The US taxes all income earned globally by US Citizens.

The blogger below is incorrect ... take a look at what I pulled off of the IRS website.

Income from Foreign Sources

IRS TAX TIP 2008- 37

Many United States citizens and resident aliens receive money from foreign sources. These taxpayers must remember that they must report all such income on their tax return, unless it is exempt under federal law.

U.S. citizens and residents are taxed on their worldwide income. This applies whether a person lives inside or outside the United States. Foreign income must be reported on a U.S. tax return whether or not the person receives a Form W-2, Wage and Tax Statement, a Form 1099 (information return) or the foreign equivalent of those forms.

Foreign source income includes but is not limited to earned and unearned income, such as:

Wages and tips
Interest
Dividends
Capital Gains
Pensions
Rents
Royalties.
An important point to remember is that individuals living outside the U.S. may be able to exclude up to $85,700 of their 2007 foreign earned income if they meet certain requirements. However, the foreign earned income exclusion does not apply to payments made by the U.S. government to its civilian or military employees living outside the U.S.

For more information, check out IRS Publication 54, Tax Guide for U.S. Citizens and Resident Aliens Abroad. It鈥檚 available on the IRS Web site at IRS.gov or by calling 800-TAX-FORM (800-829-3676).

Remember that for the genuine IRS Web site be sure to use .gov. Don't be confused by internet sites that end in .com, .net, .org or other designations instead of .gov. The address of the official IRS governmental Web site is www.irs.gov.

I'm afraid the IRS has the guns and the courts are on their side. So even if you had some 100% logically-flawless argument why taxes were illegal, you would still have to pay them. If you fail to file taxes or claim an absurd number of dependents, the IRS will eventually make your life hell. You could wind up in jail.

In any event, there's a good chance that whatever reason you think taxes are illegal is refuted at Quatloos -- link below.

Death, or move out of the country, where you earn income.

The poster above me is wrong. The US government does not levy taxes on all US citizens around the world for all income around the world.

They levy taxes on all income earned within the United States.

Levying taxes is not illegal.

Federal taxes are not illegal. This money pays for our roads, parks and other community stuff. Everyone would like to keep their money but that is the price you pay to live in the US. Just think of how hard it would be to get to work if you weren't allowed to drive on the street.

Become self employed; but, while you may believe the federal tax is illegal your employer does not hold the same view, as such, if they where to assist you in withholding the federal tax they would be subject to prosecution

be independently poor, then the IRS will leave you alone,

if you are productive, you will be billed for it

Move to another country
