I need some reasons why fireworks should be legal in NY?

I was thinking of writing a editorial. A paragraph for every reason. I want at least ten reasons. Here are the ones i came up with.

1. The state will benefit from taxes
2. New Jobs will be created
3. Benefits local economy by not spending money in other states like PA or NH
4. NY spends money to enforce the law
5. Fireworks are safer then ever.

Anyone got any ideas?

Well, I live in NY and people shoot them off anyway. What bothers me though is that police don't arrest those who have them if they're buddies.

But anyway, reasons why it should be legal?

Hope that helps!

They should remain illegal because it costs Medicaid millions of dollars a year in ER visits for uninsured people who have had fingers blown off. My daughter's boyfriend in an ER nurse in Pennsylvania and every fourth of July they get at least a dozen cases of fireworks iinjuries and at least one case where the person loses all their fingers on one hand.

Also, they cause forest fires which cost millions of dollars to put out and generally in every city they are permitted, at least one house fire each holiday.

Fireworks are best run by professionals. Because when you buy fireworks you are trusting some of the worst paid people in China to make fuses that won't go off too soon.

And they are not in the least bit safer.

We'll save on gas by no longer having to drive to Georgia :)
