Should MY tax Dollars be wasted like this? |
Should Florida Govenor Christ be allowed to waste MY tax dollars by making a formal apology and paying reparations for slavery as he suggested he may do?? I have already emailed him with my thoughts on this. hasn't enough been wasted on this obsurd idea? Hell why not, your tax dollars take care of hundreds of thousands of welfare families anyways, why not see something besides people driving nicer cars than you while spending your money with food stamps or the card they have now - at least your witnessing this money being spent. Sry I'm really grumpy after getting into my average car after being behind a family of 5 using a food card for junk food just to get into their new Suburban next to me. I agree. Does he have the authority to do this? I suspect that such a plan would have to go through the legislature. If he can find anyone who is still alive who was a slave in the State of Florida before slavery was repealed, then that person may be eligible for reparations. Affirmative Action has been enough reparations for descendants of slavery. I think he should give ever dollar that the slave owners paid to the government, to the ancestors of the slaves. But NOT a penny more! Well... better your tax dollars than mine... that's not right I have not heard of this , but I do believe that anyone who can prove that they personally, not an ancestor, was brought over from Africa as a slave should receive something. I don't really understand where the whole idea of slavery reparations comes from. There are no ex-slaves alive today, nor are they any ex-slaveowners alive today. |
