Do you really understand the 861 source rules income tax position?

There is alot of misinformation about what the "Section 861" (or "Source Rules") position is. It is not about not paying taxes it is about not owing taxes to begin with. Also one thing to note is the gov't groups all positions referencing 861 together so they can call them all frivolous even though they may not be. If you question the motivation behind all this it is simple; even when printing money out of thin air the interest has to be paid.

Your argument is both silly and completely contrary to the Internal Revenue laws. Additionally, every person who has used that argument has lost in court.

Larken Rose was convicted on five counts of willfully failing to file tax returns and he tried his section 861 argument. He spent 13 months in prison. Bottom line is, he is wrong.

If you type 861 tax code into your search bar they have the info, but a short version is that only foreign people or American who earn their money from a foreign source is taxable, however there are many contradicting statutes and they cause protesters to get a violation.~
