How can i get my sons social security number without asking his dad? i need it for important papers?

i need it for some things but i dont have it and i asked his dad for it before and he wont give it to me

How old is your son? If under 18, you can go to the Social Security office & request a copy of his card.

Well, it should be included in any official documents like child support documentation, divorce decree, school enrollment forms, and tax documents. If you've done any of those things for your child, you should have the number available. If you're not the custodial parent, then you'll need to ask him again for the information.

If you are the parent you can ask for a copy at Social Security office. I had to do the same. My ex stoled all of our papers and would not give them back so I ask for replacements and I got them. You must have birth certificates to prove you are the parent and ID.

If you are his mother and if he is a minor, you should be able to get it from the social security administration. Or if you have a previous years tax return, it should be on there if you claimed him as a dependent.

If you claim him as a dependent on your taxes, it has to be listed. Do you have a copy of past returns?

If you filed joint income taxes after your son was born, you can get a copy of the tax return from the IRS, for a small service charge. Go to the IRS office in your area, and get the proper details on 'how to', I don't know if it is available by phone or online. Sometimes hospital records have this information, as well as any medical providers you had contact with. Why does he want to hurt your son's future? You are well rid of him. Best wishes, don't back down.
