I was called to be a witness in a sexual harassment case in my company.? Do i have to go to court ?

If you have been properly served with a supoena or witness summons, and you don't show up, you potentially face a contempt charge.

In addition, if the court needs your testimony, and doesn't want to waste time continuing the case, the judge can issue a capias warrant and send the cops or the bailiff to go get you. The company knows where you work and what your shift is... makes it easy for them to tell the bailiff where you are if your testimony is needed. Do you want to leave work in handcuffs because you didn't show up?

Possibly. Usually the company will handle the investigation internally first before involving the Police. However, if the harassment was reported to Police and not your company, you may have to.

If you were subpoenaed then yes you do have to go to court. Failure to do so could result in a warrant being placed for you.

If you've been subpoenaed, you must show or get permission from the court that ordered your appearance not to.
