What if the person that is doing the sexual harassment is the president of the company and the HR director?

I know that I should file a formal complaint but I am unsure who to do so to. It was the HR director and the president of the company who did the sexual harassment........

I was applying for a promotion with my company that I have been with for the last three years. I was told by the president of the company and the HR director that my hair was not cut right, I did not wear enought make-up, I should go out spend money on new cloths and dress for the job that I want and not for the one that I have and also since i was a "real women" ( meaning heavy) that they would set me up with a person to help me out. So now what should I do?? I can not file a formal complaint to the HR dir!

Call the EEOC (Equal Employment Opportunity Commission). You have to go down that road before you can file a lawsuit anyway, and they will help you if they buy into your story.

But we can't buy into your story because you have not told us what it is.

Thanks for the best answer vote, but now that I see the details, I agree with Here I Am. Telling you that you're not dressing appropriately to be management timber isn't harassment, it's telling you like it is.

Maybe you should consider taking the proffered advice. Report Abuse

I don't care who it may be because it's improper to act that way towards a lady. I first would make a Police report at the station house, then talk to a good lawyer who handles this sort of case. It's against the law.

Talk to your local employment standards government people.

They should be able to direct you to the right office.

This is a tough call.

go to the police and ask them

call a lawyer theyll know what to doi

Sorry, I don't see sexual harassment here, I see a man looking at a woman who may have potential if you would spend some time polishing up your appearance.
I've always been under the impression that sexual harassment was forcing himself on you or out right saying you could not have a promotion unless you slept with him.
I guess I'm too old school to know what the new laws are these days, but if you have the money to waste, go get a lawyer, talk to the employment office, see if they think of your case and if your still not satisfied, go look for a different job.

you know, i feel for you. that happened to me also. my boss did that to me so i didn't hesitate to file a case against him but of course, he's the boss, the management rejected what i filed and i was removed out of the program. i advise you not to do so if you want to keep your job.. but if you wish to resign then that's better.

well thats a tough one i suggest u get the police involved because a formal complaint wont work too well tho try it just in case also look for another job to fall back on i know my advice isnt that good but its all i can really say i just hope ull be ok and good luck with that ur in a tough one

Two words...CHA CHING!!

But if you're asking what to do formally its file a complaint first. I don't think much can be done without filing a complain. You have to show that you told him that you didn't like what was happening. If he continues then...

CHA CHING!!!

Is there a board of directors?

If not, file criminal charges, bypassing any in-company approach. In so doing, ask yourself if you want to work with a pig who puts you in that situation.

Sexual harassment is sexual harassment -- it doesn't matter if the judge is doing it.

Get proof, and see an attorney.

Hey well if you want that new job appointment...you know what you have to do!! Find someone in the local newspaper who will do your talking for you!

TELLL SOMEONE!!! no one! NO ONE has the right to harass you!!! doesn't matter if its the president of the united states!!! pLEASE tell somone!!! you don't deserve that!!!

Better make sure you have some rock hard evidence (no pun intended).

Good Luck

Talk to a lawyer.
