Sexual harassment on me? rape??

When I was about 8 a neighbor put his hands down my pants. Is this rape, is this sexual harassment? I don't really trust guys and I don't know why, maybe this has more of an effect of me than I think?

but i feel like it doesn't have a huge effect on me, maybe im in denial. i do think about it a lot though

remember he was a bad man and it was not your fault in the slightest bit and all men are not bad just like all people are not bad. getting to know a man you have feelings for it the best thing you can do to get over thinking you need to distance yourself. Get to know a guy as a friend, if you get to the point that you trust him you can go from there convincing yourself that all people are not bad.

the correct term is sexual assualt and sexual battery on a minor.. he could only also be charged with harrasment if he was harrasing you and you have proff and since you were a minor and im assuming the perp was an adult that also would be and x-tra charge or child molestation and he would be a pedifile (misspelled i know) and if i sat down a though a lil more im sure i could think of more charges. but its NOT harrasment unless you were being harrased .... look up the definition of harrasment.. and you also have grounds of a awsome law suit cause u said u kinda fear th etrust of men now so that call ( post tramatic stress) and you could sue him for that ....hopfully he has some money so he can pay up when u sue him..

It's more along the lines of sexual harassment. Since he didnt take them off and force you to have intercourse, it does not qualify as rape.

Yes, that can influence you to not trust guys. But you should remember, even though guys can get horny really easy, not all will take it out on you. some guys will really care about you and control their feelings. When you see a guy, dont think, 'im not really sure about him'... think: 'ok. ill give it a shot.' then if he gives you a reason for distrust, you dont have to talk to him anymore.

It is neither. It is not rape because no penetration occurred. Sexual harassment is creating an unpleasant environment for somebody, by talking about sex, or encouraging them to have sex. The term for what happened to you is sexual assault. It is of course illegal, and it could be affecting you and your view of men.

More like sexual assault than rape as well as child molestation but I think if we all look back we've been in situation that society nowadays would consider "molestation." Like playing doctor with your bestfriend, or "Show me your's and I'll show you mine" all of which are pretty harmless.

I was assuming your neighbor was about your age. You didn't specify whether he was a kid or an adult that's why I'm not screaming "RAPE" or "SEXUAL ASSAULT"

It's sexual harassment, that happen to me one time too but this guy try to kidnap me eventually I think he would have rape me but thank God I escaped, I was traumatized for years but I eventually got over it, make sure you tell someone specially if he still your neighbor.

& Child abuse, maybe you should talk to someone if it's still troubling you. If didn't ever tell anyone it could be worse, there are free councillers you can talk to if you chose to. Hope everything turns out okay x

BUT either way it is "MOLESTION"........you were molested.......and im sorry about that.......that happend to me also, so i do believe that it would have something to do with why you have trouble trusting men, I DO TOO!

It is molestation. I don't know if you could file charges, however, because it has been a long time, and you probably won't be able to prove it.

This would be a sexual assault on a child, but not a rape, per se. You should report it to your parents though, it is wrong, and if it's affected you, you want to get help sooner rather than later.

I'd say sexual assault. I don't think its considered molestation if he just put it down for a second. If he was down there messing around for a while, then I'd count that as molestation.

I would also call it endangering the welfare of a child since you were 8 at the time. Try counseling so you can talk it out.
