Help. Can anyone tell me what constitutes harassment on the job? I don't mean sexual harassment.? |
What are legal options? It is the manager. I believe it is harassment when you feel as if you are singled out and made to feel uncomfortable or offended. Always start by reporting the abuse to your manager. Keep a record of who is bothering you and what they are doing. You have to complain in writing to your supervisor first, then your manager if no help there then human resources. It varies by state. Talk to your manager. If you don't feel that he/she is the right person, then whoever is above your manager that can listen to you. After all you still have HR...and they're the best. If your company has a union, they could be of help as well. Good luck and best wishes. Find out who your manager reports to and go over his/her head and be sure that you make it clear you didn't confront this person for fear of losing your job. You MUST have documentation of any type of harassament. Be more specific on what type and by who. Is it from the boss or other employees? |
