4-year-old suspended after hugging teacher's aide

WACO, Texas -- School administrators gave a 4-year-old student an in-school suspension for inappropriately touching a teacher's aide after the pre-kindergartner hugged the woman.

A letter from La Vega school district administrators to the student's parents said that the boy was involved in "inappropriate physical behavior interpreted as sexual contact and/or sexual harassment" after he hugged the woman and he "rubbed his face in the chest of (the) female employee" on Nov. 10.

DaMarcus Blackwell, the father of the boy who attends La Vega Primary School, said he filed a complaint with the district. He said that his son doesn't understand why he was punished

You gotta love a country where people are so insecure about sex and sexual offenders that a 4 year old can get suspended.

This is truly pathetic and weak! Those school administrators are the ones who should be punished...for being ignorant!!

Sounds obsurd. May I ask did the teacher say she felt violated. If so, maybe she's a little over sensitive. Somebody sure is.

my three year old has straddled my leg after his bath and rubbed himself on me. my friend with four boys says it's usual and to try not to freak out about it. i am afraid if he were to do something like that in school, i will be accused of sexual molestation because "someone had to abuse the child for him to even think such a thing". interesting

This day and age--in America--Teachers--not all but many--have no common sense--and fallow what ever-they hear on CNN--or read from the Federal Education hand book-Also many teachers-have the emotional -level of 4 year olds-Many teachers--have been trained in college to be non-thinking Victims

One has to wonder when affection became a burden? We are so over the top on all of the wrong things in this country.
If this "aide" thought the situation was inappropriate she should have taken the time to explain it to him. Isn't that what she's supposed to be doing-teaching?
My heart goes out this little guy and his family. Hopefully, he can be saved from becoming a bitter, hate filled being like the person who turned him in.

This is the type of incident that makes you want to yank your kid out of the school system and home school him/her. It says more about the type of perverted thinking of adults than of the children. Something totally innocent and harmless is construed as sexual aggression, sexual harrassment, or weird perversion. I agree with King$mity above that many teachers and administrators have the emotional intelligence of the kids they are teaching. These people are supposed to be "educators"....what a joke!
