I never cry 鈥渉elp鈥?on Y!Answers, but HELP!!!!?

I feel that I am the victim of sexual harassment at my company but I do not want to sue. I want to work everything out.

You can read more about my problem here:

In summary, the senior vice president is spreading slanderous rumors about me.

Today I called my boss (the owner) and the HR manager and expressed my concerns because I need them to address the problems. The HR Manager and my boss are coming in the morning to do an inquisition.

My main witness to this harassment called me tonight to tell me that he would deny anything that he heard said because he doesn鈥檛 want to damage his career. He said that the company would never take action against this VP and fear he is right. The VP has so much pull in the company that he feels that he may lose his job if he talks.

So, it has turned into my word against his. Should I withdraw my complaint?

No, don't withdraw your complaint. I know you don't want to sue but at some point that could be your only option. If you withdraw your complaint, they will try to use that against you by suggesting you withdrew because there was no reason for the complaint in the first place.

Also, under whistleblower provisions, they can't retaliate against you for filing a complaint against sexual harassment. (This doesn't mean that they won't try to anyway.) But you want to make sure that the complaint stays on the record as evidence even if they dismiss it.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO... bad choice think further deep and you will see why i said no

Do not withdraw your complaint, if you back down they won't take you seriously anymore and maybe even think you're lying. Go through with the process whether you have a witness or not. Just tell the truth and let the system run its course. DO NOT back down!

Well, first, the company wants to make sure they are covered legally because the courts take sexual harassment seriously and have been known to render large verdicts. So I am sure the company will do what they can to end whatever is going on. This does not mean however that things cannot be made uncomfortable for you by some others for whatever reason. It's unfortunate but that's what happens. And so if you end up leaving for some reason, just know you were trying to do the right thing.

don't withdraw n u should go ahead n bring all the proofs to against him.

Wouldn't your witness be protected by the whistle blower law?

do you have that email? and the simple fact that he did that shows that he has little regard for you as a person..do not under any circumstance withdraw your complaint..if they do not handle this tomorrow in a way in which you feel comfortable go get a lawyer...in a court of law i think your little friend will feel differently when it comes to swearing most wont lie for someone else when it can get them in trouble..the simple fact he is telling other people that you are sleeping with people which is totally not any of his business unless you are doing it on the desk of your office in the company building..is a crying shame..press it and dont stop..do not let someone belittle you...if you let it drop you will be a door mat for him and any other sexist pig.. the rest of your life..and you are way too young for that
