Sexually Harassed? Plz help? |
What would happen if a minor in high school told a teacher about being sexually harassed? I know the teacher would have to contact an agency, like CPS or something, but what happens after that? My friend might have to do this. Will she be questioned by the agency? She is afraid of what will happen after the agency is contacted because she doesn't know what will happen. How would they build a case on threats? He was careful to only say them when no one else was present. It's sexual misconduct by a teacher against a student in the teacher's school. If the threat pertained to school, it's an even stronger case, but in any case, if your friend feels uneasy going to school where a teacher is a known sexual predator, she should tell her parents, and her school counselor, in that order. If the teacher is not disciplined, then a call to the district attorney is in order. Who is "HE" and what was the threat? Anyone claiming to have been sexually harassed will be questioned quite thoroughly. However, consulting with any adult regarding this issue will cause your friend's case to be immediately reported to authorities. It is worth noting that if your friend was not actually touched, the perpetrator may not be given anything other than a reprimand, and then he/she will probably know who turned them in. If your friend has to be around this person a lot, it may be best to wait. Just do what you feel you need to do. Your friend needs to tell someone if she was harassed. I would have her talk to the teacher and go from there. I don't think it will be as bad as you think though. I have been there before myself. However, I didn't mean to say anything, but the teacher overheard me talking. I was asked a couple of questions and that was it. They just asked what was said and how I felt after he said it. They never mentioned my name nor did they make me feel intimidated. I never heard about what happened, but I was glad to get it off of my back. You should definitely do something though. What if he actually means what he is saying?? This is a serious issue that should be dealt with appropriately! Sexual harassment is sexual harassment. Call EEOC This agency will do an investigation to make sure your friend isn't lying. When the Investigation is Over they Talk to the local authorities (Principals or cops) about the abuser to Get the Guy Fired or expelled, and listed as a Sex offender (He will not be able to be in a enviorment were he can pose a threat to anyone). It really depends on what he said for an law enforcement organisation be required and the ages of the ones involved. In cases involving a minor the parents will always be notified. Trust me is better that her parents know that way they can offer moral support. If she has to testify or not depends on the strenght she had in case of trauma and the strength the D.A.'s case. SHE BETTER TELL TO A TEACHER OR EVEN BETTER TO HER PARENTS. THIS THREATS ARE NOT TO BE TAKEN LIGHTLY! You as Her friend give her the strenghth she needs to tell authorities about this guy. If not there is the danger that this threats get to be fullfilled and that he does it to somebody else. PLEASE TELL ON HIM. |
