I put a restraining order on my ex-boyfriend who has been stalking me and harassing me. I haven't bothered him at all since we broke up, but he refused to leave me alone and sent many sexual messages and disturbing messages (including an obituary he made for himself). He sent me another message as soon as he was served calling me a ***** and saying that he is filing a restraining order against me on Monday. Since I haven't sent him anything and have many people who have witnessed the harassment I've been experiencing, is there any way that he can file one against me? If he can, what are the chances of me being able to fight his order against me? I'd appreciate any advice. Thank You. It does not sound as if he has actual GROUNDS to be granted a restraining order, if you have not contacted him or harassed him. If YOU have proof (copies of email, etc), that should be more valid than his claims. He CAN claim you have threatened him.. but does he have any proof? Persons who will lie on his behalf?
No one can predict what he will claim.. or be granted. If you have stayed cool, have solid evidence, it may just backfire on him. I hope so. If you haven't contacted him anyway... it isn't stopping you from doing something that you are not doing in the first place. |
