Does anyone know if a person recieving social security benefits can get married?

If the benefits are yours yes, but if you are drawing the benefits of a deceased spouse you would lose them.~

For what are you receiving them for? If you get the ss benefits for a child who's parent died, yes, remarrying will stop you from receiving them. If you receive them due to a deceases spouse, yes, you'll stop receiving them if you remarry.

Now, if you are receiving them for your health or disability and your new spouse makes too much money (different states have different financial guidelines) than yes, you could still lose your benefits.

It's difficult to marry without losing your benefits.

You will lose any rights you have to a former spouse's social security if you remarry.
