Is it legal in the state of florida-- for a neighbor to set up a security camera ?

to video tape the people across the street? this jerkoff across the street from my house has set up surveillance equipment to record our house, just to antagonize my mother. the cameras are only facing our house along with the floodlights that he has pointed directly into our living room window-- is this illegal?

A security camera can only record within the boundries of the property that the camera was set up on.
What the people across the street from you are doing is illegal.

Anything which can be seen from the street is no longer private. therefore it is perfectly legal for him to have these cameras for his own security.

The lights might possibly contravene some local building codes, as they could interfere with the peaceful enjoyment of your home. Talk to you city. But the cameras are allowed.

Take pictures/video of the lights and cameras. See a lawyer.
