Is there a chance that I could sue a store in Miami if I got robbed in it? |
I'm a mom from Mexico and last week I was on vacation with my 2 young daughters in Miami (5 and 3 yo.) I went to this store and someone came very close to me and took my wallet away, they were 2 people. They ran away as I tried to run after them but I wasn't planning on leaving my daughters behind so I couldn't catch them, I asked for help and the security person outside the store told the manager something like "it is always in your store" The store videos show perfectly how this 2 people come close to me very discretely and then they make their move. I'm now back in Mexico, my youngest daughter is still afraid of going to any shopping mall, I also have had heart problems for years and after this event I've noticed myself a bit hyper tensed, it might help to let you know that I was properly visiting the US with an accurate tourist visa and everything in order. Can anybody please tell me if there's something that I can do? You can eat your loss like the rest of us do when things like that happen to us. If you want to sue someone to get rich quick, go back to Mexico and sue people there. BTW you were pick pocketed, not robbed. My purse was stolen in Miami in a Big Lots store. It never entered my mind to try to sue the store since they had nothing to do with it. I'm sorry but why on earth do you hold the store accountable ? I understand where you're coming from and it sounds awful, but why would the store be at fault? They weren't negligent nor did they commit any other wrongs: the fault lies entirely with the thieves. be thankful you or your daughters didn't get hurt. understand that it isn't good for business for their customers to get robbed so they most likely are as much a victim as you. don't bother an honest company with a frivulous lawsuit. they could counter sue you for harrassment as well. You DO know the person ACTUALLY at fault was the person that robbed you right? Why would the store be responsible? No. Quit trying to get rich quick. There is no way the store could have prevented it from happening. sorry, the store is not the criminal, and certain areas are more often robbed than others. why would u sue the store? its not their fault..stay in mexico then |
