This happened to my 13 year old brother on his 2nd day of school?

My little brother is a good kid. He's a naive 13 year old that still collects pokemon cards and watches spongebob. He's not like some other kids that seem to be in a hurry to grow up.

He just started 6th or 7th grade. On his 2nd day, 2 police officers and 1 security officer barged into his classroom, pointed him out and made him empty his pockets. They then searched him with one of those hand held metal detectors. Then they left with no explanation. Now my brother gets made fun off and no one seems to trust him. Is this legal? Especially since he didn't do anything. My parents are upset and they want to complain. DO they have a right to complain? Is this something that is normal in schools these days?

Very bizarre. Your parents should immediately contact the school and/or the police, and ask for an explanation.

The police had no right to search his person without probably cause, so they have to explain themselves.

Your parents should immediately begin by contacting the principal or school superintendent and requesting a written explanation as to what happened.

They should go to the police department and request a copy of the police report regarding the incident.

If they are not satisfied with the explanation, it would probably be a good idea to speak with an attorney.

Well your brother must not attendant a preppy school where the police officers and 1 security officer barged into his classroom. then it's normal. You have as much right to complain as a group at the pool hall. Sure you can file a complaint with some official Civilian Complaint Review Board, but it likely wouldn't take in to consideration my brother gets made fun of and no one seems to trust him.

They would have to have some sort of probable cause to do that, I would contact them and try to get an explanation, if not call a lawyer they should give free consultation

that's public schools for you... please talk to your parents about homeschooling or private schooling him.
