Is it seriouse matter if someone bought a house by using your Social Security # and you did not know about it?

Yes. The mortgage lender will try to come after you for the money.

It really wouldn't be up to you to find the person. What you'd need to do is contact all the credit reporting bureaus at annualcreditreport.com. Let them all know there is a fraudulent loan against your name. Put a hold on your account for any new loans.

Contact the loan company to tell them they have an unenforceable loan in your name that was not completed by you.

Contact the police that a fraud was perpetrated against you.

yes, the supreme court passed a law i beleive in 2003 that said if someone uses your credit even without the intent of doing damage it is identity theft........Stop by your local FBI office and fill out a report.....and call transunion equifax and experian and dispute the item with the fraud department. ...

Identity fraud. Report it to the police, check with Social Security and have a credit report run. I'd suggest the police go to the house that was purchased.

It certainly sounds like a serious matter. You need to contact a lawyer as soon as you can and maybe also an Identity Theft Protection center like LifeLock.

thats called fraud and the result of stealing someones identity is jail. I hope it is someone you know and trust and how did they manage to do it in the first place.

yeah...thats identity theft. Call the police and get a credit check cuz they may have taken more than that from you.

yeah i would say its pretty serious....u need to get a lawyer and find out where the house is, and who sold it to them and then maybe u can find out who it is.....

you plan on catching
this criminal

For any serious crime, fIle a police report and they will assign a detective to it.
