Downloading for personal use???

ok im so confused. i admit i have used limewore and frostwire but i keep getting mixed answers. some say tht if im just using it for my own person use (which i am) then its legal. then others say if its free its illegal WHICH ONE IS IT!?

and my cousin changed his ip adress to europe and canada and encrypted his internt security he hacks EVERYTHING! is it possible for him to get caught even with all of tht security

so the thing about it being for personal use is legal is all a lie rite?

It's illegal to download music you didn't buy. If you buy the CD and then upload it so someone else can copy it, that's illegal too. You can make a copy of a CD you buy, (for archive purposes) but you're not allowed to sell or give that copy to anyone without selling/giving the original as well.

I'm afraid that downloading anything for free that you would otherwise have to pay money for, is illegal.

When it comes to music, I just find something that I like and then go to youtube, find a music video with the music in it, and bookmark that page.

That being said, there are so many crimes in the world, that some teenage girl downloading music every now and then, is not even going to be worth a red flag.

I'm, of course, not suggesting that you continue to do it, but I'm just saying that you probably wouldn't see any ramifications...

Sorry, but even if you just download it for you, its still illegal.

Yes, if he thinks trying to spoof his IP actually works. Then he is going to be very shocked when he does something to draw attention to himself.
