Can i sue a school?

ok because when i was in high school i had another student hit me, my parents and i had gone to the school and they did nothing about it, they said they would suspend her but later i found out that they hadn't done anything in respect to that.she always made aggressive comments towards me and i ended up failing many classes because i tried to avoid her. during summer school my mom went to the principal and told him everything about it, how i failed classes because of it and how she hit me and she had not been suspended, it turned out that she had an aunt security in that school. the principal asked to talk to me and my friend and every time we went to see him he didnt have time for us even tho he asked my mom to tell us to g see him when we had time..so im wondering if i have a case..do i?

I'd say you more than likely have a good case against the school and possibly the person that hits you if you've kept records and when these things took place...in this day and age I'm so glad that they haven't done anything like with a weapon or whatever, but I believe bulleys are the worst in the whole world my opinion and sadly enuff they wil get whats coming to them in the end...
I'd make sure I had everything in writing and then go to the school board, which is more than likely the port acall you have to do and you can have a lawyer with you and get there thoughts and opinions on this topic..
have u reported it to Police stattion???

GOod luck!

How long ago did this happen? If it's a public school, most states have laws that you must file a Notice of Intent to Sue within 60-90 days to allow the town/state being sued to investigate. Did you file an assault charge against the student with the police?

Try going to the school district (who are higher up than the school itself), or the board of education. You may be able to get somewhere with them first. Try exhausting all options before trying to sue.

You can either sue the person who hit you or the school for assault and/or battery.

Yes, you have a case.

The school did not take reasonable steps to protect you, or to mitigate the problem.

sue the HELL out of 'em!!!!! what a bunck of BS they put you through!!!!

yes
