Can security guards give tickets or call the police on you if your driving in the pariking lot?

ok. so i was leaving work, at a outlet mall, and when i turned the corner as i was exiting the parking lot and my tires screeched. of course it drew attention to the security guard there and he watched me leave while talking on his radio. my concern is if he called the police with my license plate. i wonder if they can give me a ticket later?

Noooooooooo...they wouldn't bother with that, unless you were observed in the street doing something really bad, by them.

No, the police won't give tickets on hearsay. They have to observe it. The worst that could happen is that he called the cops to report you street racing (chirping tires, etc.) But any citizen can report that.

Security guards can't touch people, or else they'll be sued. They are mostly there to give a sense of security, and call the cops if necessary. They can, as you can, use a citizen's arrest to hold someone who is breaking the law. In a driving school I went to, the instructor said that a security guard in a patrol car can use his lights to stop someone, and then hold them under citizen's arrest. I doubt any security guard would risk walking up to a car that might have a gun (guards don't usually have guns). Citizen's arrest, however, is almost never invoked.

Some security guards might be officers that have a side job to make more money. They can ticket you. They can't mail you tickets though...they have to stop you.

Yes. Security Guards have more power than the FBI or the US Marshalls. I would be extremely concerned because you will probably be booked, tried, and given the death penalty. Good luck, you are screwed!

nah unless the real police saw you i dont think so.. they couldve contacted the police but i doubt anything would happen dont worry bout it..
