Can Cities hire private security firms like Blackwater to tackle gang problems? |
Would that be a bad or good idea? I don't ever see that happening. The city's PD would not take too kindly to a private company coming in and trying to do their job. That's why agencies have gang units. Plus, these guys, while highly trained, possess no law enforcement authority. Therefore, they can't make arrests, and wouldn't be of much use. Cities could never afford them. Cities are held to budgets... unlike the recent Bush war employments (they are in no sense 'deployments'- only military are deployed). This is not what Blackwater does. No. you cannot break the Law to prevent others from breaking the Law. That would make you the criminal. No most city's have the Guardian Angels. no ur asking to put combat vets. in a law enforcement situration. i cant see any good comming out of it. |
