What would you do if a former co worker?

who was on leave for mental problems but was either fired or quit (we don't know) during the leave. You also know that this co worker has weapons and has brought them unknowingly to us to work while he was there and now his picture is displayed on all security desk? I'm not sure if security knows something or not. Should I be worried?

Also my work has changed security officers. These are all big guys and we have never seen them before. These guys also very seldom leave their post verses the security from before would switch post every three hours.

I think somebody, not necessarily you, needs to keep their eyes open. Just keep your wits about you. Take Care.

If this person is considered a threat, and the security team is new, I'd say it was a wise precaution to have the photo at all security desks, so if the individual turns up the newcomers would be familiar with the face. Even if they make no conscious effort to memorize it, having it in view like that will have a subconscious result.

If you feel threatened, go to a place you consider to be safe, lock the door if you can and use your cell phone to call the police.

Just be aware, in a crisis it's important to know just how many people are supposed to be there, and where they are, anything you can tell the cops will be a help.

If I had his/her home phone number I would advice him/her to contact an attorney. If it was a legitimate problem the employer might of violated the Americans with disability's act.
And the former co-worker might be able to sue.
That said if you have vacation time take it in a week or so.
No later than 1 1/2 weeks if your really concerned about it.

Why don't you ask your boss what is going on? Apparently they are beefing up security so if and when this guy comes back with guns blazing you won't be able to sue them for failure to provide proper security.

I would find other employment.

Do you work at the post office?

jk ....

I would be concerned if I was you, and keep vigilant.
