I was fired from my job as a security guard can I file a lawsuit? I arrested a 75yr old lady i ws doing my job

I admit things got out of hand when I pepper sprayed and slammed her to the ground but she parked in a no parking zone, refuse to move her car and resisted arrest, after 9-11 I'm not taking any chance. Not on my watch.

Ha, that's it, show no mercy dude.

No. But if you're lucky she won't sue you forther damages resulting from your battery (the pepper spray thing) and the ground slamming incident.

And tacks on civil rights damages for exceeding your legal authority.

At best you can write her a ticket. But you have to do a lot of patrolling with the police to get that cert.

Resisting arrest? You don't have the authority to arrest anyone.

I am assuming you performed a Citizen's arrest on her - right? Your next move should have been to call the Police, and let them handle the situation! My God man! you pepper sprayed her and slammed her to the ground! - Oh Boy! NOW YOU are in the wrong!! Refusing to move her car didn't constitute YOU beating the crap out of her!! She will probably sue the company you worked for, and THEY had a right to fire you!! Even the Police don't get away with actions like this! She should file charges against you for damages!! And, if you get jail time, take that period in your life, to reflect on your actions! Don't use 9-11 as an excuse Sonny, she wasn't flying a plane!

Parking in a no parking zone is a very serious offense, This is why we don't allow security guards to have guns. She should be apprehended and sentenced to 20 years. How dare her to think just because she is old and handicapped that she should receive extra priveleges. Sorry you lost your job.

so next you will be arresting and pepper spraying loose barking dogs for pissin on a lamp post.. and being in a no barking zone...agrees that is why"security guards dont get weapons" *LMAO*...If anyone files a lawsuit, I hope its the elderly lady for you "manhandling" her...

Well, i think you were just doing your job. You could fire him for unfair dismissal!
Hope i helped

You could have eased up when she pulled out the "Don't tase me, sonny" card. And I think putting a boot on the Hoveround was a bit much.

all of you who seriously answered this are idiots.

Thanks for giving me a chuckle with my coffee :D
