Security cameras in dressing rooms?

When stores don't have cameras in the dressing rooms, how do they catch people shoplifting from the rooms? Do they just have to let people go? That doesn't seem very fair.

They try and observe people going into dressing rooms and count the number of items that enter and leave.

In Arizona, they can have a security camera in the dressing room, but only if there is a sign telling you there is one.

They count the pieces of garments that they allow in, or if they
aren't that sophisticated, they just eat it.
and which they should for not being zealous.

They may walk in on you while unclothed like they did in the old
days! They can't put a camera in the unclothing area, just in the entry area prior to entering the unclothing area. No matter if it is posted. That's perverted and nasty.

Or they have security chips in the hem line and or great big plastic
security detectors.
Why do you know someone that got caught. It would be hard
to prove without someone eyeballing you and they would have
to let you go, unless they followed them out the door. Technically you have to walk out the door. They can't touch you either....false imprisonment.
Remember Wyona Rider? Had her on invisible in living color hidden camera. Didn't want to embarrass their affluent customers by counting their items or anything.....just spying on them, because they steal too.

Well, there are other ways to catch a someone stealing from a department store or a boutique. Usually these stores have the round metal attached to the things they sell and they have metal detectors they don't necessarily have to put a security camera inside the dressing rooms. That would also make the customers feel uncomfortable fitting the clothes.

That's why they give you the little tag with the number of items on it. You go in with six items and come out with one, they're going to want to know where the other five are.
