Can someone be on social security benifits for sucidal records and depression? On very rare occasions, people with a serious, persistent mental illness can be on SSI. However, it is rare and it is a terrible stigma. Society also has a problem with rewarding people for not working just bc they are depressed. One can be placed on long-term disability if their doctor deems it necessary for depression and suicide attempts. They then have to be approved by the disabilty board. If it is classified as a mental disorder, perhaps. |
