Social security law? |
I am a female currently receiving SSI benefits .If i marry will those stop, if my husband has an income You can find information on SSI eligibility, including income and resource limits, on this website: http://www.socialsecurity.gov/ssi/index.... That depends on your SSI status. Ifyou are a widow receiving benefits through a late husband, there is a time period that you must get through before getting married. If you are receiving SSI for disability, your husband's income could come into play. If you are receiving SSi from your own accpount, as in retiremnt benefits that you paid into and are now receiving, there should be no change in your status. depends how much he makes but must of the time it stops. it happened to me and know I only get my SSA, and I don't have extra money because my husband wants me to get a job because he said that what I make know in not enough, I have to use my SSA to pay the house bills and in summer time is not easy because the electric bill is pretty high, you will loose it and unless you husband is willing to help you,do not get married stay like that because my husbad dosen't gime money, he give me a credit card to use if I need something , but went he gets the bill he complains about it and I only used it to buy groseries or put gas in my car, good luck Maybe. SSI is based on household income,so if your husband makes over the limit, then your benefits will stop. |
