Home security wepons?

is it possible to have a AK47 and use it if some one who breaks in and tries to rob my house? i live in phoenix arizona
united state's! if it helps

you can have any gun you want for home defense....but an ak47 is not a good weapon for home defense....judging from your question im gonna guess you dont have a working knowledge of weapons so an assault rifle is the last thing you'll need. you'd probably end up shooting yourself and family when someone breaks in because its a semi-complicated weapon for a complete amateur to use efficiently in a tactical situation.

if i were you, and seriously scared about someone breaking in an hurting me, personally i could give a crap about my stuff, i have insurance, so my families life is much more important...i would get an effective alarm system, not a bargain one, with alarms you get what you pay for
and then i'd either get a pump-action 12 guage or even a 20-guage would be effective or a revolver of some type, and then you should enroll in a weapons course so you become comfortable with handling it.

a pump-action shot gun gives the most psychological effect to someone breaking in, a revolver is simple to use and doesnt require alot of practice to use.

dont listen to the tard that bought a .50 desert eagle, he watched too much TV. you'll end up blowing huge holes in your wall and blowing out your eardrums if you dont have time to put on the proper hearing protection before challenging a criminal. For home defense simple, usable, and accurate always beats out the hightech super rate of fire high capacity weapons...those are for professionals, gangbangers, and people who watch rambo alot.

Yes, it's possible, but it is not a good idea. Rifles are not good for home defense because rifle rounds will go right through your walls and could possibly hit your neighbors or other people in your house.

I use a 12 gauge shotgun instead. There is less of a chance of hitting the wrong person, because shotguns have a very short range.

My uncle is a lawyer and he tells me this stuf All of the time. I hear..."if someone robs your house and you have a gun you can't shoot them unless they treaten you or you will be doing time too. So a robber can come in an unplug your TV, but if he doesn't threaten you all you can do with a gun is say 'don't move, I'm calling the cops' and keep the gun held up to him"

Check out "the Judge"
retails for about $500

Handgun would be a much better solution for home secuirty. I personally purchased a .50 Desert Eagle for home protection.

yes, but a hand gun works better in close quarters
