Social Security Elgilbilty & if,s ?

This Question is for my neice;
(No PC )
She has no Social Security credits & was a house wife the last 25 years, and at present has no income.
She is presently 68 years old.
Her husband retired at the age of 61 with 24 years work time with the FAA as a radar tect.1&1/2 years ago and recieves a pension of approx $3000.00 per month.
At present he is 63 years old and has not applyed for any type of SS benefits to include a ss monthly check or medicare for him or his wife.
She thinks as husband & wife she can draw part or all of his paid in social security and obtain what benefits that she would be elgiable for thru the system because of her age ? So, she has asked him to make an appointment with her local SSA office & ask questions..
My self, i do not think she can draw any type of benefits reguardless of her age ?
Probaly so, if he was to die before her . Then she would get maybe surviors benefits ?
Can any one clear this up for her, in plain english ?
Thank You.

She can draw social security benefits on her husband's work record as long as she has been married to him for more than 10 years. She is eligible when her husband reaches retirement age.
The husband can begin to draw a reduced amount from social security at 62. Full retirement age for him is 66.
Medicare eligibility starts at 65.

Yes, yes, yes, she can.
She should act immediately and contact her local SSA office..
If she is 62 (which she is) she can apply for an additional 50% of the amount of her husband's benefits.

My sister-in-law said she is getting an additional monthly check based on this formula.
