Robbed at GUNPOINT!??

My boyfriend just came home and told me he was robbed at gunpoint and they took everything!! His credit cards, cash, ID and even his social security card. I am so scared, I don't know what I would have done if I would have lost him!!
I'm scared they are going to try to find us now because they have our address and I'm worried they are going to ruin his life by stealing his identity!!!
Nothing like this has ever happened to me or my boyfriend before and I never expected it to.. I'm in shock.
Has anyone ever been robbed like this? what happened & are you ok??? Please Help!! I'm so scared :(

It's ok. Yes - I have been robbed before, but not at gunpoint. I was sexually assaulted and then robbed. That happened a long time ago. I am so sorry for what you and your boyfriend are going through. That's horrible.

However, with ID theft rampant, he needs to cover his tracks. Make and file a police report, and give that number that they will give you (file number) and give that to the SS, DMV, credit card companies, et al.

Statistically, they don't come to your home after robbing you. They take the money or cards and use them until they can't, but can assume fake ID's with his info. It sucks to have to go through this, but filing a report (especially what could have been a violent incident) MUST be reported. Go to the POLICE NOW!!
I am sure you both are in shock, but he needs to go and give a description of the person while it's still pretty fresh in his mind. But GO NOW!!!

Ok I was robbed about two weeks ago, basically me and my friends were running at my old high school track and two guys approached us armed with guns. I thought smart and ran away, my idiot friend stayed and got his car stolen, along with his wallet. I found out that if you are far enough to run from a robber, do it. Why? Because a robber's intention isn't specifically to harm anyone, its just to "rob" them. If that makes any sense to you. I also read in an article that if you are getting robbed, than just throw your wallet away from you, that way when the robber comes to get it you'll have a chance to run. and to answer your last questions, both of us are fine. Only problem I had was that I had to drive my friend around for a couple of days until his car was found in an impound. And for your main worry, I seriously doubt that the robber will ever come to your house. The robber got what he wanted, your boyfriends money and stuff, so he's done his job. Also tell your boyfriend to cancel all his credit cards.

First off sorry this happened to your boyfriend. Of course you will have to report it to the local Police Department. He will have to report his credit cards stolen to the credit card company. He may have to get a new Social Security card, and he will have to get a new ID. What I mean by getting a New Social Security Card....just report that his card was stolen they may issue him a new number. Good luck.

This is a sad trend in America....because we have lost the right to defend ourselves. We should not live in fear!

I'm assuming youve contacted the police already. My suggestion is to cancel your credit cards and sign up for lifelock. Also get some good locks on your doors and a home security system. Also learn how to use a firearm. This world gets more dangerous every day.

see i work at a local convenient store. i am not sure if you ever heard of the city called youngstown. but damn it seem like every other day we have to deal with this nonsense, personally they never took anything from me because it always ended up as a shootout in the store.

sorry to hear that contact social security dmv credit cards etc and report it chances are they will just take the money unlikely they will comeback but depending on where u are ask the local police to drive by his place a bit just in case
