You're investigating a successful commercial burglary. What major factor in the success of such a burglary?

should you investigate?

A- the possibility that the burglars had an inside connection
B-the fact that such profession burglars generally drive newly purchased,high-powered getaway cars
C-the poor security techniques of the establishment
D- the resale potential of the merchandise involved

If you are law enforcement, I'd say A. Its the most likely choice to lead to information which could be useful in finding suspects/perpetrator(s). B is probably not even true. C is also a possible answer but not as good as A, it may lead to theories as to how the crime was committed, but unlikely to yield suspects. D would apply in a prosecution to establish value and restitution but again not likely to lead to suspects.

Ummm...what?

A - yes, a possibility but depends upon th etype of premises. larger with many staff are more likely to start as an inside job as it;s garder to pinpoint the cuplrit

B - I don't know where this information comes from. Most vehicles used in crime will be stolen, not purchased. Legit cars are easier to trace and cost money!

C - not really a factor for the invesigation, more for future prevention

D - Well, if the merchandise had no chance of resale then why would you steal it? It's fair to assume that only items easy to shift, or stolen to order, are stolen at all.

So for this question I would have to go with A by default. Though the best bet is always to look for forensics, CCTV, witnesses or simlar crime patterns on the crimes system. If the offenders don't get caught for this they may get caught for another, and if the MO matches then it *may* be that you get to charge them for several.

Only the evidence would tell you what happened. Multiple choice is speculating.
