What can you do if your husband's identity was stolen? |
Well, apparently someone was useing his social security number to go through highschool. We got a letter from whose who of high school students and we got another letter for an internship opportunity. Is there anyway to find out where this kids parents may have gotten his number from. I don't blame the kid because apparently he is a good student, but his parents should be held responsible and who knows how many people are walking around using my husbands social security number. What should we do? While it is important to followup on identity theft and to report it to the police if it appears it may have happened, getting two letters addressed to someone else does not indicate identity theft. Companies don't use your SSN to find your address. It is more likely that a near by student wrote down his address wrong or used your address if he was trying to hide a bad report card. I've been through this. My SS# was stolen by an administrative assistant at my undergraduate university. There are several things you should do: Go to Lifelock.com and report it . they will give you instructions on how to handle it. This is too much! You have really had your fair share of bad luck lately! But hang in there, the Lord "WILL" come through in the nick of time! And all of your tenacity will pay off! Trust in Me, says the Lord! My prayers for you just got 'bumped up A* :D Call Social Security Fraud Dept toll free @ Call the police and run around in circles. If that doesn't work then have a panick attack. contact the social security admiistration. See who did better, your husband or the kid and then use that Highschool diploma!! Rather than mess with the three credit abuse organizations, I'd go directly to the Soc. Sec. Administration in your town. |
