Shouldn't there be s sort of control policy in the use on the Internet?

The Internet is prone to many sorts of security danger, which can cause loss of property, loss of money, personal threats and cyberstalking. However the web is also prone to such an enormous number of inappropriate material which may be harmful to some users,especially kids.

That's what net-nanny programs and security levels are for. The government doesn't have the right to regulate things that are technically legal that people could want to see.

I don't necessarily agree with the availability of some things on the internet, but it's not something the government can/should regulate.

Schools, as well as traveling to/from, are much more dangerous for kids than the internet. And inappropriate material existed long before the internet. There was sneaking Dad's Hustler collection, and in the 50's, there were even Congressional hearings into the dangers of comic books, especially how they led to juvenile delinquency. Not to mention smoking in the boys' room.

For historic effectiveness of control policies, check out an arrangement called the Soviet Union, and the Eastern European Bloc, not to mention the Cultural Revolution in China. Let me know how well that solved their problems.
