Can someone please tell me how do I report my moms death to social security ? You can contact your local SS office. BUT usually they get a copy of the death notice. Be aware if your mother was on SS benefits and she didn't live through the last day of the month they WILL take the last check out of her account so leave the money alone until that is straightened out. i recently had to do this as my uncle passed away i infored them over the phone 1st in which they susended his claim then i had to bring the death cerificate to the dss office in which they took a copy off that all u have to do i hope this has helped u You can call them, although that really is not necessary. When I called to inform them of my mother鈥檚 death, they already knew and had already electronically retrieved their money from her bank account. The funeral home probably did that already. If not, call the local SS office or write the SS office and provide a copy of the death certificate. Contact your county court house with the details, I am sorry to hear of your mothers death, take care, and God Bless. Contact them, and they will probably want a copy of the death certificate. |
