Why do i get randomly picked at airports?

my name is Thierry Lorinc
u say it like terry lawrence
when airport security sees my name they look at me funny, ask how to say it, ask if i flew in from the middle east, and then send me to a random security check point.

first of all it is NOT random when i get stopped in EVERY airport i go to.
second my name is french and hungarian if they are looking for a muslim terrorist why would they stop me?
third is it illegal to single someone out because u think hes muslim?

You get picked for all the reasons you mentioned above. But that certainly doesn't make it right. If you travel a lot you may want to contact management in the airports that you had this experience. Write down a summary in letter form to them and send it to security in charge. Remember to state how that makes you feel and you do know your rights and it's quite wrong to judge someone by their name. Sometimes it makes a difference to go the extra mile for a little comfort. You set the record straight and could make a very big change in their system for a whole lot of people.

If you know others with the same experience it might have a more stronger effect to get the letter signed by others who wish to state the same experience and wish to see some changes.

I hear you and know the feelings. It makes your trips stressful.

I understand that they have to do the random checks for security reasons. But I hear from a lot of people that they are being picked on for the same reasons. That's certainly not fair especially if it happens all the time to the same individuals

In this day and age, they send a lot of people to the random security check point. I have been sent myself, being a grey haired elder.................so I am willing to put up with it, are you? for safety measures?
